Donor-Based Arthrex d-ACP® and Arthrex d-IRAP™ II Systems

Arthrex Vet Systems and Lake Immunogenics, Inc. have partnered to provide a new and convenient service for veterinarians wanting to offer Arthrex ACP and IRAP II systems for their equine patients. This new service provides preprocessed, donor-based Arthrex ACP and IRAP II systems, without the need to invest in capital equipment.

Autologous conditioned plasma (ACP) is a concentration of platelets and beneficial growth factors created from a small amount of blood. These growth factors improve signaling and recruitment of cells to an injury site. ACP also reduces the amount of white blood cells, specifically neutrophils, in the platelet-rich plasma, as these may be counterproductive in the healing process.

The IRAP II system is a serum that contains high concentrations of regenerative and inhibitory proteins that block the effects of destructive proteins like interleukin-1 (IL-1), by filling receptors in the cartilage with interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra).
